Stampeders Sign Reinhart And Williams

The Calgary Stampeders have signed national linebacker Job Reinhart and American defensive lineman DeShawn Williams.

Reinhart was the Stamps’ seventh-round selection in the 2019 draft. He attended training camp with the Red and White and played one pre-season game before returning to the University of Guelph for his final season.

Reinhart played 39 games over his five seasons at Guelph, seeing action both as a linebacker and long snapper. His career stats with the Gryphons included 130.5 total tackles, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, three interceptions and two pass breakups.

In 2019, he recorded 44.5 tackles including 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass breakup as well as two kickoff returns for 23 yards.

Williams played four games with the National Football League’s Cincinnati Bengals in 2016 – recording two tackles and a half-sack – and has also spent time on the practice rosters of the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts.

Collegiately, Williams played 53 games over four seasons at Clemson. During his career with the Tigers, he amassed 88 total tackles including 15.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups. As a senior in 2014, Williams had 24 tackles including eight tackles for loss, three sacks and one pass breakup.

Williams is the son of former CFL running back Ronald Williams, who played for BC, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Edmonton and earned division all-star honours on three occasions.
