Hey Stamps Fans!
With the calendar coming out in just one month, it’s time for us girls to get in front of the camera and strike a pose! As it takes a lot of time and effort to put a calendar as good as ours together, we girls are currently in the midst of getting our shots taken and this was something I will never forget.
The whole experience was a whole jumble of emotions — excitement, anxiety, stress, but maybe that’s only because I had never done anything even close to a photo shoot, let alone one for a calendar to be sold to a bunch of fans! The calendar is something every girl on the team looks forward to but it took a while for the whole thing to really hit me. That’s when I got nervous.
After Coach Kelli revealed this year’s theme (which I still have to keep secret!) and assigned us all with our individual shots, it was our responsibility to go out and find an appropriate outfit that not only matched our shot but was also comfortable for us to wear. And do you think I had any idea where to start? Not a chance.
It was tough, but after a couple days of searching and shopping, I finally found the PERFECT outfit. Now that the hard part was done, it was time to sit back and enjoy the rest of the experience, including getting my hair and makeup professionally done. Talk about star treatment!
After the salon, I headed straight to the shoot. This was when all my nerves came rushing back to me. I had no clue what to do! It took a couple test shots and a lot of comments like “Ashlee, loosen up!” and “Ashlee, just relax!” before I actually did what the photographer was telling me to do and just had fun with it. But when I did, oh man was it ever a blast! All that stressing out was for nothing.
And now, the waiting — by far the worst part in my opinion! Now that all the pictures have been taken, we have to wait (with great anticipation) for the calendar to be released before we even get to see them. Fingers crossed it’s a good one!
The 2011 Outrider Calendar is being released on Sept. 6 at the Labour Day Classic — I hope to see you all buying a copy!
